Exeter Chess Club: Steve Martinson on Queen's Indian
Defence
1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nf3 b6
will try to make the thrust e4 to dominate the center; Qc2 is
played to prepare for e4; if c4-d4-e4 is allowed, d4-d5 will block
in Black's b7 Bishop
if e4 is allowed, Black must either (a) effectively attack the Pawn
center with his PIECES, or (b) break the center with f5; delaying
d5 is often most effective, waiting for disruption at e4; c5 is
also used early to bust the center
